Love the pictures you have posted here. when I lived in england there were many little cottages covered with ivy with thatched roofs as well.

It's beautifully dignified, and the touch of red is perfect.
Such a beautiful photograph....snow makes everything so magical and romantic, doesn't it ? I love ivy-clad houses but, as you say, not so good for the brickwork.
