Gardening in the Northwest

I went out to work in the yard today, to start off with I have a very large yard so at times I have to determine which area I want to get at first. I have some bulbs just ending there life and some tulips just looking there best. I have a hard time removing all the planters that have last winters pansies in them, when I do remove them I place them in a area that they can reseed themselves. I would like to know who came up with the term DIRT CHEEP. I buy dirt  by the tons..................2 years ago I had a dump truck deliver a full load and I have used it all up..................HOW much dirt do you go thru in a season? Happy Gardening. XO MARY

Dear Mary,
Oh, we get through LOADS of dirt. Perhaps not as much as you but, quite a lot. We have a shredder and shred all of the garden waste to make mulch, which is free !! That's one consolation.
I love your old door and your pansies look as if they have been wonderful. I was going in the garden today but, contrary to the weather forcast, it's raining !! .... a lot ! We have had some wonderful weather in the last week but, not today. I'm a bit of a fairweather gardener, I'm afraid !
Have a lovely week. XXXX

Pretty pictures Mary - the old door is charming. I get through loads of soil too - you do wonder where it all goes!

Have a great day.

Hi Mary!
Thank´s for your kind comment.
Here in Sweden and in the Stockholm area we are still waiting for the tulips to show up. The nights can still be below zero degrees Celsius, but spring is making progress everywhere in the nature. Wonderful! At last!

hugs
Sussi
