I wanted to make a special post for Mother's Day remembering the Grandmothers, Mothers, Aunts that have left us for a better world. I love and miss them dearly and keep there memories in my heart. I hope you enjoy the old photo's. Love to all Mary.

Mother's Day Brooch Swap

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I want to show you the two special gifts that I got for Mother's Day. I joined the Swap for all seasons and this time the theme was a vintage Mother's Day brooch. We were to send it wrapped in a special way. My husband was so excited for me he unwrapped my gifts B/4 I could take photo's of them...........he loves how we all share our hand made gifts with each other...........My swap partner is Holly from Arizona.............she had this gift wraped in this hanky so nicely it reminded me of how I placed diapers on my daughter.........my husband even noted that the saftey pin was painted white.....it truly was adorable. The pin was attatched to a hand made little quilt......I simply love the care an thought that went into it. I love cameos, they remind me of my mom.........I will always treasure this piece....Holly also added a lovely shabby chic card that I went ahead an pasted the white extra cemeo to it, it looks like it was ment to be there. Thanks again Holly you made my Mother's Day.   The 2nd gift is from my special and dear friend Susan @Art of Mine........she made me the necklace, I love it so much and I am planning on wearing it to a wedding that I will be attending soon........she also sent me a vintage card......look how the card and necklace charm match..............I hope you enjoy the photo's...Love to all.

Birthday Wishes for my Mother

I would like to take today and wish a special Birthday Wish to my Mom. My mother passed away 20 years ago today. I was just 31 years old and my little baby at that time was 21 months old. Boy has time gone by. I miss her very much and have a lot I want to share with her. I know she has looked over me and I surely hope I make her proud.. I have included some old photo's to share of my family just click on the images. I have included a old family photo of some of the dinners my Grandmother put on, a small photo of my Mom when she just turned 40 years old and then the precious one of my Mom and four of us children, my mother is pregnant with my little sister Penny. Mother's Day Brooch Swap

I am here again showing you my brooch swap that I joined in. My swap partner told me she was a real girly girl. So my choice of a brooch had to have a pearl in it. I think pearls can be dressed up and also be worn casual. I took a old jewelry box and decorated it with vintage sheet music and pretty pink material.......I made a soft stuffed heart and pinned the brooch to it. She may leave it on the heart when she is not wearing it and the box can also be used for the safe keeping of the pin. I also sent a few small gifts and I will let her choose if she want's to share them with everyone. I wrapped the box in a vintage doilie and tied it with a pink ribbon. I then hand made a hang tag so she could use for a book mark if she wanted to. I sure hope Holly enjoys this gift as much as I had fun making it for her. Happy Mother's Day!!     HUGS MARY

It's Sunday where do I start

Hubby wants to try to go outside today........He bought me a new bike for Mother's Day so he wants to put it together. I am going to try and work in the yard and keep a eye on him....will see if he does ok, the vitiam D will do him some good. Brian came by and did us a favor and cleaned out the gutters and put moss killer on the roof, thanks so much for taking time out of your day to help us.
